Aquaponics Pump

aquaponics pump
12 volts DC 3.5 amp water pump how many deep cycle batteries will I need to run it 12 hours?

I am setting up an Aquaponics system and I want to be off the grid. I need to make a 3.5 amp pump run all night. It’s a 12 volt pump drawing 3.5 amps. I will run it all day on solar and wind power and I expect some wind at night, though I don’t want to count on wind at night. Any incite on how you calculate the answer would be a big help.

sure. 3.5 amps x 12 hours = 42 amp-hours. So you need one battery rated at that capacity or better. I’d get at least a 50 amp-hour unit.

.

1 MILLION pounds of Food on 3 acres. 1 pump,10000 fish, 500 yards of compost ** Aquaponics **
